Edit:^ i like Schira's like to the post better [8D]
I don't know a whole lot about it but from what i gathered/heard/read it is simply a lighter chain and sproket. Mast people get diff. gearing at the same time with thier 520 conversion. I guess the 520 is made with less steal and what not so that makes it lighter, but since less steal it also makes it(the chain and sprokets) wear out faster. I have also heard thatyou will not really notice the 520, and/or it won't really make adifference unless you are at the track and what not.For regular street riding, and cruzing i hearits better to stick with the 525 since they last longer. What i hear, not first hand exp. [8D], is that people go through 520 chains about once a year, but i don't know the milage they are sposta last. Well I'm not 100% sure if all this info is true, but i think it's a semi-general thing of what the 520 might be [8D]hope this help a lil!

lol im at work right now man got nothing better to do than get paid and sit on here and my bad for rushing lol i was just gettin bored at work!!!! DONT YELL AT ME DAMNIT! your lecturing me like my mother haha. thanks though bro
Whoa Whoa take that **** back please!!! sure 520's do wear out faster! But dont go with vortex theirs does wear out quicker! There is a company i blieve called sidewinder that makes a steel and aluimin rear sprocket that last longer!!! Now the idea of getting a 520 kit is for more acceleration! My bike was a world of difference after i went with conversion !! Sure i lost some top end but nothing like comming out of a corner a lil quicker!!! 520 kits depending on how you get them are lighter, but the ? is the how many teeth you go down! I went 15 front and 46 rear!!! My revs are higher! on freeway 80 mph i sit at about 7,500-8,000 rpm... and i when i want to step on it its all there ready to go it seems like!! plus one thing I like about the 520 kit is it seems to get rid the fuel issue honda put on our bikes to pass smog in espically in Cali were between 3,5g- 5g there is less fuel in the motor and when you try and open it up the bike has a lil hick-up and then kicks in the power!!! 520 seems to avoid the issue by allowing the motor to spin a lil faster keepin the rpms up! In short the front sprocket seems to be key as well as how many teeth you down in, the small the diameter of a circle the easier it is to move!!! the larger the diameter the slower it moves....
hope that helps.... i aint tryn to write an essay!

your bike did not come out of the corner faster BECAUSE of the 520 conversion...it's the gearing change.
people make that claim often...and it's hog wash...do only a 520 conversion with no gearing swap and even the most sensitive butt dyno won't be able to register much of a change coming out of holes, etc...
now from a 530 to 520...maybe.
