2004 CBR600F4i Starting Issue 1st Time After Winter
Hello All,
I need some help. I have a 2004 Honda CBR600F4i with 13,000Km on it. I winterized it by changing the oil, filling the fuel tank to the top with 91 octane and adding fuel stabilizer.
Since spring is coming around, I have been trying to start the bike but no avail. Battery is charged and I know it's not a power issue. Here is a description of start up sequence.
Insert key and turn to Power On.
Flick Kill Switch to ON (fuel injector whine and actuation is heard)
FI light goes off. Hit Starter Button.
Engine turns over like normal but will not start (fire).
I can smell some fuel from the exhaust so I assume that the fuel system is working. Is it possible the sparkplugs corroded or deteriorated over the winter here? Is there anyway to check without ripping apart 1/2 the bike?
Thanks!
Regards,
Rick L.

First of all, you should wait till the beginning of the season to change your oil, as it sets the molecules break down. The starting problem could be a couple things, your spark plugs are probably fouled, and that could have been caused by a faulty FPR flooding it, or its just time to replace 'em. So check the plugs, replace em if necessary. Do a search on the FPR (Fuel Pressue Regulator) and check it while you check the plugs (so you dont tear it apart twice). Keep us posted
