2002 Honda cbr 600 f4i Cluster Gauge issue
I need some help with my F4I, I have no idea what is going on or what happened. I am restoring an 02 F4I and I just began putting new plastics on. The guy I bought it from did not have any blinkers and he was missing the main headlight bulb, I installed them, everything was plugged in while the bike was naked (no fairings on) and working correctly. I even had the bike up to temp running for awhile while everything was plugged in to test the temp sensor and everything was still working 100%, nothing blew or shorted and the gauge cluster didnt go out which is my current issue, I did this multiple times to check the temp sensor so I know my wiring was correct. As I began to put the new plastics on I started with the front cowling, as I transferred all the hardware over I unplugged the headlights from the bulb socket to take them off the bike from the wires so I could get the rubber cover on the new fairings good, I believe I may have plugged the wires in backwards on the headlights which I did not know was possible. After this occurrence, I turn the key and the gauge cluster does not do it's prestart routine. The bright light indicator works, clock still works, fuel pump still primes, and the bike still cranks. The FI light does not come on, rpm dial does not move, and the speedometer does not turn on. What I have tried so far was hooking up a charger to the battery, this didnt work, I also checked the fuses in the box and the main fuse the 30a one and they all seemed good. I took a brief look at the wires and it all seems to be in tack, no exposed wires or touching wires. I havent checked the connection in the gauge cluster but I highly doubt it came unplugged by itself sitting there unless I bumped it when I was putting the front cowl on. Should I replace the fuses anyways? Where should I begin to look? I have another 01 f4i that runs good so I have pretty much every part on hand let me know what I should look for thanks guys.
Unless you’re Superman and can see electrons moving inside wires, there’s absolutely zero way any human can just look at electronics and determine its ability to conduct electricity. Luckily, we have instruments that can.
