2002 f4i running funny
I just purchased a 2002 f4i and it is running a bit funny. It will sit there and idle nice and pretty however, once it is given a bit of gas it starts to run funny: not so much rough, but the RPM's will go up and down at constant throttle. Once the RPM's are up, it goes away. I am thinking I will just take it to the dealership, just wanted to have an idea of what it might be in case it is something very easy. This is my first street bike and am very excited! It has a little under 22K miles. It does have 2-brothers exhaust...this might affect it? I didn't know what the bike would act like if the valves needed adjusted or if the throttle bodies needed sync'd. Any information would be greatly appreciated. I am also new to this site so I may be posting this in the wrong section?!?!?!

Having an aftermarket exhaust will not affect the idle rpms. do you have to oxygen sensor in the new pipe? Im asking because like my yoshi you needed someone to weld in a bung and thread it to make a place for the sensor. If the valves were off then you would hear a licking noise at idle and it would stay if you could hear it over the exhaust. If its running rough it could have a miss firing cylinder or a bad spark or coil.
