Default A $1.98 Washer ???

I was looking at my reciept for oil change parts...Did I really spend $1.98 for a washer at the dealer? Can't I just go to Ace hardware and buy an aluminum washer of the same size for about a dime? How about a poly one? Am I missing something here. What do the rest of you guys do?

By definition, if they have part numbers, they are parts, unless they are the whole, but usually the whole has a model number as opposed to a part number.
