Yes, that is normal. It's also normal to freak out about it! When I bought mine, it was hot and I was riding it out of Alexandria, VA. I watched that temp just climb and climb every time I had to stop for a light or an idiot cutting me off in 10 - 20 mph traffic. I thought for certain it was going to overheat before I got home. Of course, nothing was wrong and thankfully the info on the forum here calmed me down!

 

I'm in Maryland. Today it got up to 200 in 30mph traffic with little air flow . And 178 to 180 while moving with no1 in front . If I had a car break wind while doing 60 to 70 it would go up to 185 +/-

 

Yeah, on days like today, mine will hover between 190-200 if I'm going under 40 or so. Just be careful that you are paying attention to the idiot cagers and not your temp! Maryland drivers is kuhrazy!
