i just got this 02 f4i and love it...but at about 5,000 rpms the is this noise almost like the timing chain is raddleing,,, i can hear it clear as day she downshifting and accelerating ....The noise hits at about 5 grand... I hope its not the timing chain...i checked the headers and alll tight...its directly center of the tank like right under the ignition........any suggestion would be GREAT!!

 

probably the cam chain tensioner. its a common problem with the F4i's but its a relatively easy fix for about $100. do a search on the forum and you will find lots of topics.
