02 f4i idle and vibration issue
first of i want to introduce myself, im john im new to the streetbike world. ive rode bikes in the past but i recently picked up my first one its a 2002 f4i about 16k miles.
so after i purchased the bike i noticed it sounded like the valves were ticking and did some research also contacting a local dealer i found out that the f4i's cam chain tensioners are recommended to be replaced. i bought the tensioner, gasket and crush washer from the dealer. before installation i rotated the crank from the clutch side clockwise about a half turn to get the slack on the tensioner side. replaced the tensioner pulled the T shaped tool and reassembled the bike. everything was great!! about a week ago ive noticed the the idle isnt as smooth as it previously was and at 6500 rpm either riding the bike or revving it in neutral i feel and hear a vibration.... i pulled the bike apart earlier today, and pulled back the tension on the tensioner bascially to let it reset itself thinking it would possibly fix it but no luck.... any help will be great!!
thanks
john
