02 f4i cam tension question
Got a 2002 F4I with an oil leak on the cam chain tensioner. I heard about the malfunctions the automatic ones have but the current one that’s on the motor now is a manual. My questions are… preference between manual or automatic? If either one, should I make sure the cam is top dead center first? And if it’s a manual one, do I install it and just hand tighten it until there some tension? Then start up, listen, and adjust accordingly? tips? Tricks?
I’ve watched a lot of videos and some forums but people just slap it in quick in and out and start up and maybe they adjust it. Thanks in advance!
