So I took my bike apart over the winter months back since December. She was working fine but I took advantage of the cold weather as my excuse to take her apart. Here's what I did:
1- I cleaned the carbs (which I suspect might be my problem if my current hypothesis doesn't work out)
2- Replaced a cracked oil pan & changed the oil (it was good oil but I had the other one laying around so yea)
3- Took apart some of the wiring harness to cover up some spots where the old tape had stopped covering and replaced it with new tape (but was very **** about labeling everything)
4- and a bunch of other cosmetic things (painting)

When I came to fire her up she sounded weak and I realized I never put her on a trickle charge even tho I used the battery for a few things. Damn; 4+ month? and a 4-5 yr old cheap battery? No duh!
I put the charger on her and it was reporting about %75 so I left it charging all night and came to try again the next day. Same thing. It'll go down to about %80 after one attempt so I'm replacing the battery. I'll update soon but, since I'm troubleshooting this, I'll post here and hope it helps other bounce ideas.
Mods: please move this if it's in the wrong place...

Sounds like battery should cure it,
put some new fuel in and try again mate. did you take the carbs apart or did you just squirt some carb cleaner in there. jets could be blocked.

I thought sotoo but it didnt work. I just tried the new battery, and she sounds and does the same as before. Sounds normal but doesn't turn over. then I check voltage and she's at about 85%again (although nit after 1 try, after a few).
I did take the carbs apart for a good cleaning. I hope I didn't mess anything up. any ideas would be helpful
