spark plug removal
Hey dudes
im sure this not an uncommon question iv removed sparks on the f4 before and it was a pain in the ***.
now its the turn of the f2 but trouble is i dont have the removal tool this time does anybody know the correct socket size for the plugs iv removed carbs and the rest of the stuff thats in the way not just to get to the plugs but to rebuild carbs.
these F**king spark plugs drive me crazy iv made up 3 removal tools before for other bikes but the cbr seems to have beaten at the moment i cant see in to the hole or feel if my socket is going over it to see if the socket needs some fat trimming off so it can get down the sides.
Any help would be great keep riding hard mo fos

I'm assuming you have the side bodywork off.
If so, unbolt the radiator from the frame. Don't disconnect the hoses. Just lower the radiator down and let it hang from the hoses. It should give you plenty of room to go in from the front and get to the spark plugs. Then you can just use a regular ratchet and socket.

16mm or 5/8ths deepwell socket. Yes its a pain in the rear. I have to keep switching back and forth between different length extentions. You dont want to drop the plugs in the hole because you might mess up the "gap". My spark plug sockets, the ones with the little rubber in them to hold the plug was too big around to fit "down in there" so I lined my regular socket with electrical tape to make a tight fit, that way the plug wouldnt fall out. Then the socket stay stuck to the plug but wiggle wiggle slowly released the plug then used socket with no tape to tighten.

Thanks phil and coalminer much appricate the help.
yes i have all the side body work off i will drop the rad and go in that way might aswell take it off and clean it anyway.
and coal miner it sounds like you have experince with the elecy tape i know where your coming from i tend to use a small bit of hose pipe once there loose.
Its always been a pain in the **** to do any spark plugs on a bike.
but compared to the f4 which i had before the fairing panels are a piece of **** to come off and having the inspection panels are great
thanks again guys
