Default Silly hoses

im synchronizing my carbs this week just waiting for my main jet along with the vaccum fittings to the heads (not sure where those connect yet). I'm taking the advice i found on a previous thread and cutting a broomstick in half to prop up the tank while I adjust the carbs. One of my concerns is that the housing with the gold screws just above the carbs with the gaskets has to come off and it has three hoses that connect on the top of the carbs, What do i I need to supplement those hoses with?
