Default Need help asap!!!

I can't figure out how to take off my windscreen! I took off the mirrors and tried to take out the screws on the inside but they're so tight and don't seem to be coming out at all. Do I have to take off all the fairings? Im just trying to put my new windscreen on. Thanks guys!

Yes, you have to remove the screws and the black plastic pieces.
Remove the mirrors. Then loosen/remove enough bolts in the bodywork so that you can wiggle the upper around.
The windscreen has a lip at the bottom and once the upper is loose, you should be able to wiggle it out.

i took off all the fairings on the sides but can't get the front part around the headlight and wind screen, do you know anyway to undo that part?

Ok, if you've got the lowers off. There should be a bolt on each side, just behind where the access door goes, that bolts the upper to the frame.
Remove those 2 bolts. Then stand in front of the bike, reach around and grab the upper by where the access doors go and gently pull them out 1/2 inch or so.
There are pins by the headlight that slide into rubber bushings that support the upper.
You should then be able to wiggle the entire upper and pull it toward you and get some play.
That should be enough to remove the windscreen.
If you pull it farther, the pins will come out of the bushings and the entire upper will drop down.
The windscreen will then be easy to remove, but putting the upper back on can be kind of a pain.
It will make more sense when you do it.

popped something out but don't know where to go next. The previous owner left a nice crack in the fairings so hopefully I can take it off without breaking it further

Default These stupid things

These screws (one on both sides) are giving me lots of trouble. They're on the inside, opposite of where the mirrors go. They're really soft and they strip easily. Do I need to take them off in order to get to the wind screen?

Yes, you do.
Use a good quality #2 screwdriver.
Push then turn.
