Default lowering F2 w/ an F3 shock???

I have an old FZR, but my girlfriend just got a CBR600F2 about two months ago, needs a little work so I've been working on it here and there, but she's 5'2" and she can ride it the way it is, but she wants it lowered so she feels safer at stops. I've heard of people swapping out the F2 shock for an F3 shock to drop the bike, and it's a lot better than lowering links because it doesn't compress the shock more, it's just a different shock that lets you ride lower, is this all true? I've been trying to find more info on it but I can't find much. Is it a direct bolt in or is there shaving? Also, I'm posting an ad in the classifieds section if I can find it on here (I'm new), but if someone has one that they'll let go for $40 shipped I'll be very happy, and she will be too! Thanks a lot guys..God bless!

The F2 shock and the F3 shock are the same height.

I have a vortex lowering link I bought and never used with I'd part with for cheap. The lowering link doesn't compress the rear swing arm further, it just adjusts the geometry somewhat. Even if it did compress the shock more, you could just lay off the preload.

Send me a message if you are interested!
