Default More help... Chain lubricant... couple nub questions

Okay, so I was wondering what's good to use on the bike chain? I'm thinking of cleaning it up and I was asking my grandpa what he has that might clean the chain up real nice before I lube it, he said that he has some brake cleaner fluid that would clean the **** out of it. So I thought about it... Figured I ask you guys.

Also, what is good lubricant? PBlaster? Would that Work? What about WD-40 and some white wax??

and my old thread was getting boring so here's something new as far as the bike goes - - -

WOW awesome news... tell me what you guys think about this!!! - - - I think I'm going to use a bicycle computer (like 30 bucks) for my speedometer, this one is accurate up to 183mph. (I'm pretty sure I won't be going that fast but most bicycle computers won't go over 75), I don't need a tach cause I shift by speed/ear. I also am looking at these mirrors instead of the bar ends - https://www.bajadesigns.com/NET/P-18...ing+Dual+Sport - - - See, they're only 13 bucks and the mounts are 6, then I don't have to f--k around with the grips I have on the bike... I'll keep you updated guys!! let me know what you think so far!

Edit:

The Bicycle Digi Speedo is called a Sigma Sport BC 800. - - -

DO NOT use brake cleaner on your chain. Use kerosene and a soft tooth brush to cleaner your chain. Also use the search, you will find alot about cleaning your chain and what to lube it with. And no WD , its only good to clean rims with

WD-40 is fine for cleaning the chain. It and kerosene affect the o-rings approximately the same. Guy did a test on it and other cleaners. Here's the results.

I float the dirt off w/ WD40 and go on my way. I used wax for a while, but I don't like dirt paste all over the place. I clean/lube with WD, then give it a bit of Eezox once in a while to prevent rust.

I use Motul chain cleaner that's safe for o/x/y/p/q/r/s rings (made those up but you get the idea). I also use the grunge brush. http://www.kneedraggers.com/details/...t--614555.html

For lube I use DuPont Teflon Multi-use dry wax lube safe for x and o rings. The DuPont is cool because it keeps dirt away and you can get it at Home Depot or Lowes.

Well just don't lube the chain with WD-40. Trout can get away with it cause at his age, the wind from any speed above 30 and break his age brittled bones

For chain lube / wax, you're gonna get everyone's personal preference. Which really means go to the bike shop and find your own. So long as its chain lube for motorcycles, it'll work.
