Default Head bolt torque specs

Well i've torn my spare motor apart to learn how to work on motors but now its coming time to tare apart my good motor. Does anyone know if the torque specs of the f2 are the same torque specs as the f1 hurricane? I have the clymer manual for the f1 from my buddy and its been a great help so far, i just don't want to over torque everything

Go get a 'Honda' Service Manual, not clymers or haynes but a 'Honda' Service manual. Easily find them on Ebay. When in doubt, torque to the specs of an F2, not F1. Aluminum is a fragile metal to overtighten anything, I wouldn't even guess at this if I were you. You cannot correct aluminum!

+1 underground,. If you want all of that hard work to come out right, get the factory manual. It is a cheap investment into the health of your baby.

I agree with the guys above. I just put the cylinder head and cams back on my F2 engine and I had a printed out copy of the service manual with me the whole time so I can check and double check the torque specs. It's pretty easy to find the F2 manual online and download a copy.

37ft.LBS. for the heads to the block. Make sure you only slowly and carefully cross-bolt tighten the heads down a little at a time for a good seal.

This is where I recommend getting the 'Honda' service manual. It is depending which bolt you go after, some are 9lbs, 17lbs, and 24lbs. I would love to help you out, but I do not won't to give you bad advice and you have a 125lb paperweight.

When 3 out of three, make a suggestion, trust us on this one. I know/understand the
drive to "Get 'er done", but it really is worth it's weight. To have the answers/procedures
right in front of me, really helps the "flow", when I'm wrenching on the scooter.
If you're constantly start/stopping, you'll increase the odds of making a mistake.

Check the how-to for the online-manual thread, at the very least. Although,
personally, I dig having the book open in front of me. I've only got a 17" svga
monitor in the garage, so it makes it harder to really see the details of the PDF form.
Plus, you can't throw the monitor over the seat, to reference. lol
