gas cap wont open/gps question
this forum needs a search function that can handle 3 letter words, so i don't have to use Google site search!! lol
i have an f2 with an f3 gas cap that a locksmith made a key for from scratch.
it worked a couple times but no longer likes me. Read the two threads below.
Heres a video. the lock turns but the cap doesn't pop all the way, and doesn't always open, plus the key will just slide out at any position. So once i get it open should i remove the tumblers and use my house key, or is the latch/lock messed up/non compatible and i need a new one?

photobucket video of my cap.
Also how do you attach you car GPS, just picked up a nuvi 200.

Have a decent locksmith look at it and make it to use your ignition key. Not expensive.
As for the GPS, see below pic.
If you need more, I'll do it on e-mail. Mine is a Garmin 1340 never fallen off or given any trouble.
Keep it dry, they don't like water......
You can use a 17mm black solid paintball round as a ball to fit into your bracket, or just buy one like pic on e-Bay for 99 cents and make a holder that fits in your steering stem. My latest version is pic 2, sits lower, and I'm currently busy with MK 3 using a paintball on a long engine bolt.....even cleaner.
You can of course fit a bracket onto your clutch mastercylinder as some guys have, too....

i like your option 1.
although i went ahead and spent 103 for a tech mount, for my $30 gps...
EDIT
ok removed tumblers, gas cap opens super easy now. probably from the removal and replacement more than tumblers. also found out the bike is super cold blooded and i am not to sure the choke actually works...
