---------Engine noise fixed (cct) Rad it-------
But I had a friend with the same bike as me who wanted me to do this mod on his bike, we got rushed at the end and didn't spend enough time getting it set just right. Result?? motor siezed less than 500 miles later.
WOW thats not a good notice, so what happen??? did you screw too much???
i mean the chain was toot tight??
ID_CBRIDER, Can you share with us the right procedure to make the correct adjustements?
As you might know i get mi self adventured to do this CCT modification.
no experiece at all.

Right way:
Start bike with new manual CCT ajusted all the way out. Bike will rattle pretty bad. screw the bolt that runs through your CCT housing in couple of turns. sound should start to go away. Rev bike to about 5-6k RPMs, sound will return. Screw in about half a turn. rev motor again sound should still be there. screw in another half trurn. Rev motor again. keep doing this in small half turn increments until sound goes away when revving. make sure and tighten down the locknut so it doesn't back out. 5-6k RPMs is where it should be the loudest. After that take it for a ride to really run the revs up, to see if the sound is still there. if no B.B's rattling sound coming from your motor, your good.
Wrong way:
"Hurry up dude it's late I gotta get going!!"
"Wait a minute I'm almost done"
"Just finger tighten it then ad another turn it'll be good"
"yup no sound coming from the motor"
"sweet thanks, I'll talk to you later"...Vroom Vroom VVRRRROOOOOMMMMM.......
Next day my phone rings...
"Dude I siezed the motor on my bike"
This pic is what was found when the motor was pulled apart. So...DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN THE CCT
The bike was later sold to a stunter and last I heard was still not running.

i loose the tension bolt until the noise apear again and then i start to turn in until the sound desapered litle by litle but it stills a very small vibration noise there, but there wasnt before because i tight a lot so i m still graduating the tension to avoid overtight.
thanx to all of you guys, for all of your coments on this post.
i think is closed case, the noise died for ever.

Was that a brand new guide in your picture? It looks old and shagged.
Interesting thread but there is obviously a unique setting for every single engine. The trouble with manual tensioning is it is very intolerant to temperature variation. If you live on the equator it's probably the best thing since USD on tap but for more variable climates you could be in trouble when your engine cools, the chain goes tight and...... oops.
Still, that's just theory, 15k of good miles still sounds like a tried and tested theory.
Well done all. I'm all for home made engineering done well.
Thanks for the inspiration.
I've still got the hydraulic tensioner and am happy sticking with it.......for now.
