Talking ---------Engine noise fixed (cct) Read it-------

Ok here is how i fix this anoing noise that has been in m cbr for the last 2 years
solution is called APE MANUAL CAM TENSIONER.

Keep reading pleaseĦĦĦĦĦĦĦĦĦĦĦĦĦĦĦĦĦĦĦĦĦĦĦ
I live in mexico as you might know we need to import a lot of things, but when we do that we have to spend a lot of money, im mi case to buy an APE cct it will represent a 100 usd
payment (cct+shipping) and the doubt that maybe arrive to my door or not.

so i had to make my own manual CCT now im very happy because the noise is gone, im not shame any more and the performance of my bike is the best in many years.

is important for you to know that i replace the chain and the cct 6 months ago, i went to the honda dealer i pay for the chain and a brand new hidraulic CCT ant the noise was there so, DONT BUY the original CCT, get the ape manual cct or make yout own like me

here are the pix

That's awesome, how did you make it?

It looks like you milled the base piece.

Nope, actually it was turned on a lathe. It's a quick and nice way to get a good-looking part, but the downside is that the shape has to be a revolved profile, which is why the CCT looks a bit wider (and rounder) than it should. Good design, though. If I had known a circular shape would have fit, maybe I would have just made mine on the lathe!

looking at it again, that makes more sense. you can tell how much I know about machining parts.

Exactly LATHE is the answer. i didnt know the name of that machine in english.

The base of my Manual CCT is perfecly flat, i put the cct gasket underneath my CCT.

The design can be perfectly round, but in that case you have to cut off the metal ball
corners of the gasket.

But i cut off this areas see image below.

Here is a draw of how dose my manual CCT looks like

The total cost of this noise desapered was 20 usd.

Last saturday i drove 300 kms and the bike feels great especialy during the curves. it was so firm , i mean consistant, so steady. I hope you understand what i mean.

i had a shop do a similer thing with my stock tensioner drilled out the end and put a bolt with a wing nut on the end. works great and $20 was way better than 50 for the ape.

IMPORTANTĦĦĦĦĦ

-Ride your bike until the noise apeard.
-Engine is going to be hot so take kare.
-Remove the hidraulic CCT.
-Set your manual tensioner screw almost at the same longitude than Hidraulic cct maybe less.
-Mount your Manual CCT. (Dont forget the gasket)
-On neutral start the engine.
- if it doesnt start is because it is out of timing (turn in the screw a litle bit or unscrew )
-Screw until the niose desapear, dont screw too much because the engine will be very tight. (too much tightness can affect the bike performance or streach the timing chain, or break the chain guide inside, remember is plastic maded.

RIDE Happy.
