Ran across an odd problem that I've been having trouble pinpointing. The bike has started randomly overcharging, putting a multimeter on the battery the R/R was in spec 12.8v around 2k and 14.4 at 5k. I went for a short ride around with the multimeter on the tank it would randomly spike up to 18v stay there for 30 seconds to 2min then drop back down.... and it does this very randomy some days several times others never.

When installing the GSXR R/R the voltage never dropped below 16v (This was a known good unit) andd also putting in another honda R/R I got the same results as the GSXR unit.

I've traced the major grounds and continuity checked them, no problems there. The stators output is normal and within spec also.

Any help would be great, this one has got me completely stumped
