Default carb identification help.

I am hoping this is the right section to post this. I tried using the search feature but came up empty.

I bought a set of carbs last week, and was told they were jetted with Factory Pro jets. I have a full race exhaust (also acquired recently) and thought this would be a good thing to have a second set of and that the holes that needed drilling/closing would be already done for me (2 bonuses in the deal).

The problems I'm having are:

(1) I'm not sure if these are actually jetted with anything???

(2) I have a '92 F2 (California bike) and the new set came from a '94 F2 (49 state) so I don't know if there is a difference there.

(3) I'm not entirely sure what to look for. does anyone have any pics of what jetted carbs should look like so I can compare???

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I will post pics of what I got in the carb deal as soon as everything is done soaking and cleaned up a bit.

If there is already a thread for this can someone please point me in the right direction.

Thanks

to my understanding the california just had more vaccume lines for smog certification. the 3 open swivvle tubes between the carbs. the center is larger and the 2 outside ones are smaller. if you live in cali these will be used otherwise just leave them open. wont hurt anything. with the large center one, just dont turn it all the way down, it will interfer with the throttle linkage.

As for jetting, you will need to open the float bowls and pull the 2 jets (2 per bowl) one large main jet and one small idle jet. read the sizing on them. (the only numbers on them) and compare to OEM sizes. since you have them apart its a good idea to clean them. soak in carb cleaner for a while and run some fishing line or guitar string thru to punch out any gunk, blast with compresed air to finish it off nice.

good luck

pretty sure its only dj that needs the hole filled, and yeah you'll have to read the size on the main jet. And just because they are jetted doesn't mean its tuned for your bike, you may end up needing the whole kit.

Ok so I finished cleaning everything up. Here is a list of the numbers and pics of the part I found each on.

I only know for sure which piece is the main jet. On those is stamped in K(strange block lettering style look to it) 135 (K135) pic #1

The needles have J3WA stamped in them pic #2

There is another part next to the main jets that is taken out with a flat head screw driver. It has the K symbol and 38S stamped in (K38S) pic #3

Last a larger opening that I can't take out that is fit into place not drilled. It has 38 stamped in. pic #4

Pic #5 is one of the carbs to show the holes and anything that may/may not be there that shouldn't/should be in there.

I promise as soon as my camera battery is recharged I will add pics to each description.

Any help on what is actually in there would be great. Also any recommendations for proper jet sizes would be appreciated as well. I live in Southern California so it's pretty much at or near sea level and not too humid.

Thanks again.
