Default Bike not starting

Had my #2 spark plug strip out, so I pulled the engine and bought a helicoil kit.

Upon reassembly, it just cranks and cranks. It sounded like it was gonna catch and fire up a couple times, but no go. Carbs are good from previous cleaning and are assembled correctly. All plugs are in and torqued and wires are in correct order. Doubt it has bad gas, it has been less then a month since it was started last.

Seems like an ignition problem.

The only thing that i can see is different is the #2 plug wire does not sit flush as it did before...It still "snaps" into place, but doesn't sit flush like the other plugs....This is because of the helicoil correct? But wouldn't the bike still fire up even if it wasn't getting spark on one?

Any help and input appreciated.

Thanks

...Anyone? Will update after I check if the plugs have fuel and spark tomorrow

UPDATE: The plugs have spark including 2nd cylinder which was stripped out. I'm clueless what to do next.

Have narrowed it down to a fuel problem. Sprayed with starting fluid and it fired right up. I took it around the block and it bogged down and then died after about 5 minutes. My carbs were cleaned and it was running just fine before. Chance it actually is bad gas...?

The problem must be with fuel supply or delivery. do you have good flow into the carbs? If so, then you have carb issues.

Yeah I've narrowed it down to that now. The flow to the carbs is fine, all hoses are clear, fuel valve tightened down well, air filter is fine.

I was able to ride the bike about 6 miles in traffic today until it bogged down and died as I was pulling into a gas station. I put new gas in it, and it turned on fine and ran another 6-7 miles before bogging down once more.

The thing I dont understand is how something actually happened with the carbs, because I didnt mess with them at all while the engine was out. Just pulling it off and letting it rest on the handlebars and reassembling. I have triple checked all hoses are hooked up correctly..They were working perfectly fine before engine was pulled and have been pulled apart and cleaned about 5k miles ago! I dont get what could have happened?!

Final update!

A small piece of rubber that held the fuel filter to the tank fell deep into the fuel filter blocking off fuel causing the bog! how or when this happened I dont know, but I'm glad to be riding again. happy riding!
