Default another bike not starting

Ok guys and gals before you flame for not doing a search i did do a search and couldnt find anything specific about removing the front fairing....maybe there is something posted on here or somewhere but I couldnt find it.

Well basically i want to remove my front fairing to get access to the bank angle sensor(tipover) so I can reset it i guess. I took a spill on my bike a few weeks ago and now it wont start unless i jump it with a car or push start it. Now when i do find this sensor is there anything specific i should be looking for??

So im hoping theres a vid out there or pics out there that will show me the steps.

Thanks for any help or tips

oh yah i have a 05 cbr 600RR

Doesn't sound like your bank angle sensor. The sensor keeps your bike from running at all. If the sensor were broke or stuck, you wouldn't be able to run the bike no matter how you started it. Also, there's no "reset"-once the bike is picked back up, it should allow it to fire. If it requires a jump or push start to start your bike, i'd start with the battery.

Some things to check:

-Does the fuel pump prime when you turn on the key? (low whining noise)
-Does the bike turn over/ attempt to crank when you try to start it?

Give us a lil more info so we can help diagnose the issue.

Sik, i'm not exactly certain but that doesn't sound like a bank angle problem to me. I know on the '07s you just have to turn the key off and back on and boom you're good to go.

hmm lets see here

the bike does prime when the kill switch is on
the bike doesnt turn over just clickin noises and then it fades away

well if it aint the bank angle then thats good saves me one less thing to do. i was hoping it wasnt the battery, but maybe time to get a new one?? imma double check the kick stand sensor. basically the bike runs fine, but after a few times of starting it and turning it off the bikes has no more juice to crank over. this first happened when my bike was laid down on its side due to a friend riding it in the parking lot at very low speed (basically idling the whole time) then when i picked it back up to fire it up.......it wouldnt start. just the same old clickin noises. maybe the rectafire or stator? im thinking battery prolly go get a voltmeter and check the battery this weekend.

thanx for the help so far

Yup, Check the Voltage regulator first, then the battery.

Check your rectifier voltage first before ripping apart the front end.

If you got to get a new battery, it's gonna be about $100 regardless. And it's best to get yourself a battery tender as well so that when the bike is sitting, it still has charge and the battery won't go bad on you.

Get used to using the online fiche details, they are an easy way to get the parts you need and to compare prices...I have three that I use religiously to get parts... one is on my local dealership's site:

http://www.willowsmotorsports.com/fi...ion_detail.asp (OEM Battery is $145)

There is also carolinacycle.com and honda-partsdirect.com, both have better prices than the dealers if you can wait for the parts to be shipped...

http://www.carolinacycle.com/fiche_section_detail.asp (OEM Battery for $113)

http://www.hondaparts-direct.com/fic...ion_detail.asp (OEM Battery for $118)

When it comes to my bike, I usually only buy the stuff Honda intended to use, like the OEM air filters, oil filters and battery. I suppose you could get a battery from WalMart or Sears, just bring the old battery with you so you make sure you get the right replacement. If I were you, I'd suck it up and buy one from Carolina Cycle.
