Default f2 drag race

finally got the bike to the track..first the track was wet and we had to wait for them to dry it, then the tree broke.. but i got two runs in

first run 12.321@116
second run- killed it at the light restarted ran a 13.1@118

not too bad but now i got the hang of the tree so we are going back on thursday. plus i wasnt throttled up, i left the light at 1,500rpms like a stoplight so i am practicing revving it and using the clutch to launch better!!

friend on the r6 ran a 11.8 at 121 so they shut him down untill he gets leathers.(after 120mph you have to have leathers)

practice sliding the clutch. those 600s like the rpms. once you get comfortable with it keep it above 7000 rpm. you are doing the right thing starting out, go sloww. baby steps. little bit at a time . you will get it.

track was horrible last night. everyones times were slower than usual..

1st run- 12.488@113.47
2nd run- 12.31@113.76
3rd run- 12.165@ 112.64
4th run- 12.531@112.21
5th run- 12.321@114.28
6th run- 12.226@114.24

at least i am getting consistant... and i am taking my timing advancer off because it is revving too fast through the gears....

but thanks alot ClutchBurningRacing i have been trying revving it higher and its helping, also i am shifting at 11-13,000 rpm's instead of 7,000.

what kinda of 60 ft and 330 ft times are you getting? Most guys on 600s go 1 down and 2 up works for them. do you have the front strapped? You say it is reving too fast thru the gears? i'm confused. is your clutch slipping? I was having trouble getting past a certain time on the track. a freind told me to stop looking at your time at the end. break it down into sections. If you race on the 1/4 mile track break it down into 4 sections. keep a notebook and write everything down. start on your reaction time, then 60 ft time, 1/8 mile time, then 1/4 mile time. work on one section at a time and take notes on what you change or do different.

my reaction times were from .27 to .53
60ft on average was 2.083 to 2.128.
my 330 was from 5.3 to 5.4

the front is strapped and i lowered the front and rear a inch.. that helped out in keeping the front planted... now i still am trying to get used to launching with the RPM's high and riding the clutch off the tree..

the reason that it was revving to fast is the timing advancer that i put in, it will jump the rpms too fast making me shift more and i was losing time in shifting too much and i cant rev it through the gears enough. but i took the advancer out last night so i am going to go to test and tune and try it to see the difference...

that is definately a good idea i am going to try that. it should help or at least help me nail down where to work on...thanks
