I have an 03 954 and when you nail it a slight puff of white smoke comes out. It only has 1400 miles. I just changed the oil and was wondering if this should be a concern....other than this it runs great!

 

no kidding but how does the exhaust smell?
a little bit could be some water in the pipe from condensation...

 

White smoke with a hint of blue is oil. If it is early on your ride (first 3-4 miles), then it is very possibly condensation. Are you sure it isn't a grey smoke? This would indicate a rich mixture in your fuel map @ WOT (wide open throttle), which is common in almost every bike and car on the market.

 

hows the coolant lvl? do you have to add coolant every ride or so? if so, the white smoke is from a blown head gasket, or your head is cracked, if the smoke is somewhat consistant. white smoke after the motor reaches full temp for a few miles = burning coolant.
