Default WD 40 on rear tire - what to do?

While cleaning my chain today, I accidentally sprayed WD40 on my brand new rear tire (because I'm an idiot!). Not a full blast, but some overspray.

Anyway, is there anything I should / canuse to clean it off? I'm guessing I should take it easy for the next few rides. Any other suggestions?

Thanks!

Just wipe it off, no big deal. It'll be gone as soon as that part of the tire touches pavement.

Thats all you can do is what X said, any other chemicals to remove it will just make it worse. Wipe off what you can, and take it easy turning left for a little bit till you see its gone.

I was hoping that was the case - thank you!!!

For a minute, I thought I just destroyed a brand new tire...

BTW, brand new COLD Pirelli DCIIIs on COLD pavement do not stick very well! The rear started to slide out a bit when I stupidly snapped the bike into a corner too quickly. Thank goodness I kept it up

what was said above or yopu can clean the tire with dawn or westlys bleach white (tire cleaner).

I did the same my last chain cleaning and I just let it sit over night n rode it the next day.

watch out fro that bleach-white crap...while it is a KILLER tire cleaner, it will also stain/streak/f*ckup any unfinished or rawmetal...like polished aluminum on your wheels or sprockets, for example.

true that. esp if it is applied to the wheel dry. I usually use the stuff when I do a through cleaning and will be applying mothers on the wheels, etc afterwards.

I spray brake cleaner on a rag and wipe the area that has oil on it.
Good brake cleaner will not swell or dry rubber in anyway and it works great, your tire will be sticky clean.
