Default Can the rear tire hugger be removed without taking the rear wheel off?

Hey guys, I would appreciate it if someone knew the answer to this question. More appropriately, I'd like to install a new tire hugger (rear fender) but don't want to have to disassemble the rear end.

Kinda seemed like it couldn't be done, but the service manual states that it can be.

I've managed to do it. It's not the easiest operation, but it can be snuck through!

Does anything need to be removed in order to facilitate this, any panels, etc?

Ha, I dunno. Couple semesters ago I took a C++ course and it seemed logical to write this as an if statement. In hindsight, I could have written just the word "or" and saved all the other stuff...

Not really, I forget how I did it, but I know I did it and put it back on too! I forgot to mention I cut my rear fender off almost entirely as my own custom DIY fender elim (which is very easy by the way), which may or may not have made the job easy. You should mod your rear fender at the same time if you can!
