Hi
Does anyone else have this problem with fitting a 954 fuel tank?
We bought a 954 with all sorts of electrical problems and a dead fuel pump amongst others faults a couple of years ago. We have sorted everything and is now spot on but when we went to bolt down the tank it was 10mm short of the top two mounting bolt holes . It had been off the bike when we bought it as last owner tried to fix the fuel pump. No matter what we have tried and we have checked everything to make sure the new fuel lines or anything was not getting between the tank and air box. In the end we unbolted the 4 bolts on the plate that lets you pivot the tank back then bolt down the 2 at the head stock end and then put the 4 bolts back in the pivot plate. It does seem some what strange that the only way to get the front 2 bolts in is by unbolting the base pivot plate.
One more question, the small fuel tank vent line the one that has a tee on it was this meant to be for a EVAP canister model? as I can't think what the small hose off the Tee could posibly be for. Short by 10mm

Hi
Nothing as simple as that . It is the same with the whole airbox removed . It's just weird, I was just wondering if anyone else has the same issue. I never fully put the tank on during the rebuild I just put some temporary long fuel hoses on so I could run the bike on the lift after everything had been sorted. The tail subframe welds look good not messed with as that's the only thing I thought could be the problem, as the last owner was somewhat vertically challenged, It is not a real problem just 4 bolts to remove as well as the top 2.
