stator gone bad?
ok heres th whole story...
i wrecked a stoppie at about 60mph2 months ago. havent really rode the bike in 2 months since ive been in a sling. i have started it and let it warm up a bit about once a week. put a new subframe on yesterday. gettin it ready for tomorrow so ican ride once again. today i start it take it down to the end of my street and come back, its fine. go back out to put itaway,it barely starts!?!
i turned it off and try to start it again. nothin accept clicking. my friend comes over and jumps it for me,started. turned it off after about 10min of rpm's at about 3k. started up again by itself. 10min later it barely starts!?! im guessin stator. any other suggestions? thanks in advance

Hey Stunt, im about 95% sure that either your stator or regulator is bad, like BobJoe said check your stator first. I'd like to say that your battery is fine but replace it anyway, whats happening is your charging system is doin the exact opposite.....Not charging the battery. Since your charging system is not charging the battery your bike is running off the power your battery has left and when its all gone....
your not going anywhere! If you fell on the left side of the bike and didnt crack the stator cover it is possible that with the impact you may have screwed your coils up on the stator. Charge your battery then start the bike, while the bike is running use a multimeter and check the voltage coming from the battery, if it is slowly decressing then your chargin system is not working. <---Start there first if you havent started anywhere.
