rubbing noise and vibration at 6k help
Hey gang, I'm in need of help. 03 954 I'm used to the noisy top end so its not that.
There's a rubbing noise while rolling with the clutch held in that slows with engine speed also right around 6k and up it vibrates bad ,really feel it in the pegs like a buzzing ( think woman companion )
Its not done this til recently ive had the bike for two years so i know it doing something . performance isnt lost i just dont want to be stuck on the road. thanks

I am in the process of replacing my camchain. It was slapping so I bought a manual adjuster and that quietened it down but it didn't fix it. With the valve cover of and turning the motor over slowly (clockwise) by hand the exhaust cam 'kicks back' (anti-clockwise) and loses the tension that was on it. It looks like the chain is quite worn. 44000km's. My guess is that it is riding up the teeth on the crank sprocket, then snapping back into place.
The slap before adjusting was felt in my footpeg, and heard as a regular tick that varied with engine speed. After adjustment it just sounded like a loud top end but has a higher frequency buzzing that I can feel through the bars.
