Default Pissed!

Back in September, I traded my 99 Subaru RS w/ STI motor swap for an 02 CBR 954RR and some cash on top. The bike had 1600 miles on it, and a a scratch near the back seat and on the exhaust, but nothing major. I rode it and fell in love, completed the sale with a huge grin!

Well, here I am 5 months and 3100 miles later (got to love this mild MA winter), and my wife and I are moving to Wyoming in June. I decided to sell the bike for some extra cash for our move. I had gone to a dealer to look at a truck for the move, and he said he would give me $4500 in trade. When I got home, I opened the envelope from the MA RMV for the first time, and guess what?! I never noticed that the bike had a Rebuilt title! There was never anything to make me think that it was, the plastics were 98% perfect, the motor ran beautifully. The bike in general was perfect for a 2002.

My question is, what would could I expect to get for it if I sell it? It has 46xx miles, brand Michelin Pilot Power 2CT tires, a shortened Yoshi exhaust, 8k HID low beam, new Double Bubble Windscreen, just had an oil change.

The bike starts first try every time, it rides straight and steady, even at speeds over 120. Now i am wondering if I will even get enough money for it to be worth selling it.

If it has a rebuilt title, are you sure it actually had that low of mileage? I would be concerned that the gauges had been swapped as well. I'm not sure what it would bring, but it sounds like it is in good shape. You might not be too screwed if you can find the right buyer.

that happened to me with my f3. it was right then that i found out they really didn't make smokin' joes editions in '95 (i was young).

you should be okay. if you wanted to, you could buy a clean title frame and swap it over, sell old frame to racer or something. problem solved

that'd probably add a lot of value.

It doesnt take much to total a bike. Bent forktubes and a full set of plastics is all it would take now days. Try and find some History out as to why it was branded. Then decide on How mach the value is. If it was me.....The Bike would be exploring some new roads in Wyoming!
