Default Pair valve removed by PO, and issues with fouling plugs

Hi guys.

I’ve been having issues with my bike fouling plugs. I’ve had the bike 2 years and have ridden it for the first and has been parked since having a baby.

bike had 73000 km and I don’t know a lot about the history but the previous owner claims to have put cams in the bike but no paperwork to back those claims.

Ive read a lot and it sounds like there could be some issues with the rings and or pistons. Or possibly valve guides.

I’ve just finished pulling the motor from the frame and noticed that the plates on top of the valve cover that would have went to the pair valve have little caps that I assume were supposed to plug those holes, but they have since deteriorated and are open now. Could this be causing the fouling of the plugs at all or would you just think it’s unrelated.

Im pretty sure I’m going to pull the head off anyways but just wanted to see what others thought of possibility of those leaks causing plugs to foul? I’ve attached pictures of the top of the covers

Thanks in advance,
Jesse

Pair valves are for emissions and will not cause fouled plugs. Most likely you have a bad fuel pressure regulator. When the FPR is bad it dumps excess fuel into cylinders 1&4.
