I'm looking for a new-to-me engine.

I bought a CBR954 back in june as a project. Bike is fine except for one not so small problem, I threw a rod out the front of the case today during my first ride and will need a new engine. Anyone parting a bike with a mind to sell the engine?

Also, on ronayers, is the crank case set with new crank/piston guts worth it compared to a new-to-me engine?

ok you didnt hear it from me. call erion in california. see if they will sell you their race engine. for the right price they may let it go.

You know whats funny about that I remember seeing the Ebay posting where they were selling a Jake Zemke race bike with spare motor back in like 2004. The one motor was mostly stock and the other motor was seriously juiced up for another class. If only I had the money then. It would be so much fun to pull up to everything on the road and track and rock them with your 190 hp 954.

 

i'm pretty sure none of their motors have starters or stators capable of running anything other than ECU and FI

while a 190 hp would be fun and all, bump starts and buying race fuel would get old. and the cops might have something to say about there not being any headlights on your bike



how did you throw a rod on your first ride? any pics? it wasn't knocking before you took off or anything?
