Mushy Clutch
Went for a ride today. I thought I was going to "Frankenstein, MO." 116 miles away with a boat load of twisties on the way.
So what went wrong? Clutch went mushy. Not slipping, just mushy when i went to change gears. I had to push the clutch lever back out just to complete the shift. Tried to adjust it but that did nothing. So I turned around and drove to my friendly motorcycle shop: Donelson's Cycles (shameless plug).
After 30 minutes and $26.00, it was just a "gummed up" bolt that secures the clutch lever to the clutch mount. A little cleaning and a little polishing and it was working again.
Moral of the story, even if it's a bummer, play it safe and don't ride hard if you or your bike are not 100%.
