Hi guys. I have an 02' 954 that I bought back in July. When I bought it I didn't have any idea what the Mil codes were, so now I am realizing that I have had the MIL code for the map sensor going on for about a month now. I have checked the part and it seems OK but I haven't checked it with a voltage meter so it could be busted. Anyways, is it possible that I just need to reset the MIL light using the service check connector? Could riding all this time with a faulty MAP sensor seriously damage the bike?? Where can I find a MAP sensor and is is possible to reinstall myself??

Also, the bike has a full hindle exhaust system and a PCIII USB.
Any help would be appreciated.

 

Well, it's likely either the map sensor or a connection to it. I would clean/check all the connections and then replace it if it needs replaced. You can get likely get one on ebay or from someone parting out. You could also check places like bike bandit and mr. cycles.
