Default Letting the bike sit / infrequent riding

I don't ride as often as I like. I work a suit job and many hours, plus having a wife and kid limit the free time ("me" time) on the weekends. Sometimes, I might only ride the bike once every 2 or 3 weeks. After a ride (usually when I do get out it's a good one, mostly highway/winding country roads, about 5 hours +), I put the bike in the carport and cover it.

I'm just wondering if I should be taking some extra steps when I put the bike away after a ride. Should it be on an upright stand, or should I be using a an octane additive (I use 95-98 octane now), that sort of thing. Any input or previous experience would be appreciated.

2-3 weeks is not that long of a time in a controlled enviorment for a bike and also a fuel injected bike but ya stans are nice.. also try to fill up on gas before you put it in back in the garage battery tender if over a few weeks or month is also a good idea

The problem I ran into with storing my bike was the damn mice! They tried to make a nest in my fairing and would pee or whatever on my header pipes. It would smell really bad when it warmed up, which is how I discovered the little bastards. I imagine they could me a real mess if they go into the electronics or air box. I fixed the mice real quick-like with the help of Decon and glue traps.

Sorry I never had that prob except for winter of course. But if you know it will be a long time put it up on stands and keep it clean and cool before you put the cover on it. that will help the paint and keep things from getting nasty from heat and condensation. too keep the mice away I use a garage cover it has a tyvek bottem and then thetop cover zips on to itclosing it off then glue traps just to be sure.

Are you guys storing your bike in a barn or a garage? I put my ride in the garage, on stands, with a cover on it. I don't think that there are rats in my garage. Should I be concerned about this?
