Default Newb Installing Slip-On - HELP

I purchased a Two Bros C-Series Titanium Slip-On last week and I'm in the process of attempting to install now. I removed the factory muffler with no problems. The situation I'm having is after removing the factory muffler, there is a small 'cone' attached to the piping that the Two Bros will not go over... just snags with about half an inch left.

What is the deal? Does that 'cone' somehow come off or does the Two Bros actually somehow slip over that?

I had this exact same problem when installing my carbon fiber 2 brothers can....What i did was take a bandsaw to the cone and just cut that biatch off. Its useless any damn ways....Oh yeah and the 2 brothers sounds much better than the factory can. Trust me it will NOT hurt the bike by cutting that cone off. Although it is a biatch to cut, that fuxer is pretty tough.....=-)

Did that 2 bros come from someone who had it on a 929rr...Was asking because mine came off a 929rr. I just figured that "maybe" they just had 2 different size cones for some ungodly reason. I actually tried fitting mine on my 929rr and it fit perfect. But on my 954rr i had to cut that cone off....I know the 929 and 954 are pretty interchangable. So theres no telling....But yeah, cut that biatch off and install the 2 Bros. You will NOT regret it, i promise....=-)

If saving the stock parts is important to you and you have a bit of cash to burn, you could always go for a full system...

Well, while tinkering at my work, I got out the air saw and gave that cone a trimming. Wa-Lah, the Two Bros fits just fine after making a trip to the hardware store for bolts. Call me crazy, but I still like the sound of the loud D&D's a little more...

Just curious, I didn't have a gasket when I removed the factory muffler, is there supposed to be one? I have a minor leak around where the muffler bolts on...

There should be a ring or 2 that slips between the slip on and the pipe where the cone was. You would get a small leak without those rings, i'm sure.....D&D is loud and obnoxious, kinda like the damn Jardine MT-One on the ole ladies F4i, LoL......I got the 2 bros the 954, so now people can actually ride on the right side of me without losing their hearing, haha.....Noone wants to ride beside that damn D&D...=-)
