bike letting me down.

bike letting me down.
So this afternoon I went over to the local army surplus store to apply for a job cause i heard they were hiring. went in, talked to the girl that worked there and took home an application.
came out of the store and went to start the bike and it acts like that battery is dead and won't start. errrrr
i can't push it fast enough to bumb jump on my own and i don't want to run along side it for fear of dropping it when i let the clutch out. so i have a guy who is at the car wash next store help me push it.
It seems sometimes when the bike gets hot it doesn't like to start, i think its a fouled starter or something, but it doesn't do it often so i figured it wasn't worth the cash to rebuild it.
this hasn't happened me in a year but it happen to a friend of mine the other day when i let her barrow my bike. after i got home i let it sit in the drive way, then went out after an hour and it cranked right up like it nothing ever happened
this isn't a tech question, i just feel like complaining. It sucks not being able to trust your bike cause i take it out on long rides in the middle of nowhere or if i need to go somewhere important it might let me down.

Yer , it make's it tough when reliability goes out the window, that's for sure ..
Intermittent like that, it could be quite a few things , but I would stat with the usual stuff ... the battery(check it) then the terminals (clean tighten) then get the charging system checked..
Started cable connections (for a short or loose cable..)
aside from that you are probably having to get the starter checked out , which is a pain..[:-]
but you need the reliability back , so what choice have you got ??
good luck mate

My old Corvette is like that, I don't trust it. I had a boat like that too, sucks to have to beg someone for a tow. I had a BMW that was also shaky, those cars are too complicated even for a dealership.
Check the battery and the grounds, it is probably something simple.
