hey guys, i'll try to do the best in describing whats going on, hopefully i can make it as clear as possible.

ok, well, i installed the PAIR block off plates the other day. i put everything back together, messed with the fuel map a bit, went out and took it for a ride. i take off from the light coming out of our subdivision, and the bike pulls amazing. very crisp throttle, no flat spots, i'm really happy with it.

so then a few miles down the road, i'm running at about 5k rpms and i go to pass someone, i roll on throttle and the bike really bogs down, and pulls rough for a second or 2 and then pulls amazing again once i get to about 7.5-8k rpms. so thinking that it may be my fueling or something, i try it again, and again, and again, and no matter where i roll-on the throttle at in the rpm range, the bike bogs down really bad as soon as i twist the wrist a bit. but from a stop, there is no sluggish-ness. it pulls strong and hard everywhere.

so what could be doing this? could i have missed a vacuum line when i was putting it back together? if so, what other vacuum lines run to the airbox besides the main one from the head? could it be one of those sensors that's connected to the airbox?

i've messed with the fueling a few times now, and it only gets worse from where i had the map in the beginning, so i think i've ruled that out, right?

I also did the pair valve block off and had the same problem but at lower rpm.I notice that you have a pciiir,what do you have the ignition advancer at?

how did you fix your problem?

 

I set my timing to + 4 up to 4k rpm and +2 from 4k to redline.Try that and see if it helps if not might have to play with fuel settings at your problem area.Hope this helps.

 

ya, i played with my fuel a bit more, it's gotten rid of the nasty roll-on response, but it seems like i've killed my bottom end... do you think if i run a hotter plug and throw more fuel in there that i may get some of it back?

 

Dont know about hotter plugs,but play more with fuel and see what happens.
