I'm in love

i usually always change oil, coolant and check tires when i buy something. i didnt with this bike and it bit me pretty hard. i almost went down into a guardrail. I have a new set of Dunlop Q2's in my living room, going on tomorrow.
I rode Shady the other day. I'll try to make it down. What time do you think you will be out there? I dont get off work till 5:30 on a good day and its a 45 min. ride there

ya, that sounds good, anywhere 32-36 is good...
imo, mitso, the handling issues were probably because of the tires... and i'm almost sure they were very low and thats why they blew out. the same exact thing happened to me when i was testing my 954 out and on the ride home after buying it. i kept thinking to myself, "well this must be what going from a 600 to a 1000 feels like, these tires suck, i can't handle for sh*t" <--- it was all because of the rear tire (stupid dunlop 208 yuck!) and because both tires had around 10psi in them. after i got a new tire and had them up to good pressure, i was grinning from ear to ear. just wait, you won't be dissapointed

I run 34/34 in my 954 and check my air pressures fairly often while out riding in places like Shady Valley. Usually both front and rear go up about 6-7lbs which is probably a little too much. I get excellent grip and great mileage out of my tires this way. I got 5K miles out of Michelin PP 2CT front tire. It takes me almost 1.5 hours to get to Shady Valley so riding interstate combined with the twisties I want the most grip/mileage out of my tires. I know other riders around Shady that barely get 1500-2000 miles out of their tire. They run extremely low pressure thinking it will help with grip but in reality it can create too much heat in the tire making it loose grip plus wear out way too soon.
I will be in Shady early on Thursday because street fights start at 6pm and I will be there early to get in as many runs as possible. Drag racing is addictive plus it allows to see just how much little mods improve your bike. Going -1 front sprocket with lowering strap gained me about .4 tenths last week. Come check it out if you have never been and this is the last one of the year. Only $10 to race and last week I got 12 passes from 6-10pm. You must wear full leather and boots.
