Default I need hp recommendations

I'm ready to start adding power. Does anybody make race or performance Cams for this bike? What other engine mods should I look at. I would love to get atleast 150hp to the wheel. What are my options beside turbo.

Nitrous.....

I don't think anyone makes real performance stuff anymore for them. They were a 2 year model, 15 years ago, so there is not really a market. The best you can hope for is someone parting with some parts that are laying around.

The one to ask would be backdoc. I think he has a thread that's not too old selling some stuff.

Yeah I was hoping parts from a different bike might work. I will think about turbo but it will be expensive as hell because I can't build it and put it together myself. I just know how to do engine rebuilding etc. What about ported head with aftermarket exhaust I know I shouldn't compare with a car but I made over 50 hp with head, header work with a custom tune. No clue if it would help or hurt performance on small bike engines

My old 954 made 146HP/71TQ with a full Hindle exhaust and bmc race filter. Its not cheap to get more power from the 929/954 as very few companies make parts for them anymore. Just buying a full exhaust, power commander and having it custom tuned will cost you over $1000. Under the 954 "How to" section you can see my old threads where I installed nitrous on my 954 when I used it for drag racing. Even going this route is not cheap and will cost another 1000 as you need a good exhaust system, PC3 usb with a multi-function hub and wiring, all nitrous parts and custom tune for nitrous. You would be better off buying a newer 1k if you want more power than sinking a lot of money into your 954 to gain such a small amount of power. Changing your gearing is the cheapest way to make your bike feel faster.

About the only performance you'll be able to buy for a 954 ; there's new high compression race piston kits for them on e bay for $1250, plus you could port & polish the head, & slap in after market 06 cbr1000rr injectors ($16 each) to let in more fuel, you'll more than break 150 BHP at the wheel, but then you'll have her lighting up on you where it will bite you breaking traction either when your not ready for it or not expecting it. so a 16 on the front & a 40 on the rear should ease that only a little. look at the u tube tricks to lose weight on these bikes, & see if there's lighter after market parts as well, but that's about all i've seen out here for 954's.
