Default I want 180hp on the 954. Suggestions?

I have built this absolutely wonderful 954 that handles better than anything I have ridden lately on the track. However great she is in the corners she really lacks on the straights with power. I am sure that some of you have done some engine mods to get more power. So, please offer up any suggestions you might have. This is my winter project.

You can try gearing instead. A lot cheaper. Pretty much same results for what you want.

+1 on gearing, to get more power out of the engine will require internal mods.

I saw a dyno graph of an R1 that was stroked back to square, it was impressive to say the least. Also not cheap.

I have tried the gearing. This bike is totally setup from head to toe accept for the engine. I found a guy on the rrzone forum selling a carbon fiber ram air system. Nice. I am planning on doing motor mods, I think it is the only way to make good gains at this point.

i dont think the CF ram air is gonna get you the power you need... correct me if im wrong but 954 already has ram air and getting a CF system isnt gonna make much of a difference than it already is... well minus 3-4lbs, thats about it... start with the motor... if i have learned anything about motors is that the higher the compression, the higher the output (on a NA motor of course) but you also have to have the proper headwork and fuel systems to equate it... that is gonna cost major $$

+1 priced a 1mm overbore piston setfor the 954 and it ran over $600 bucks. O_o i say turbo set-up with a little headwork and custom map

a turbo may net the desired HP but wont be much fun in the twisties or on a track except for a drag strip!
