No way in hell u seen 190mph on a 954 thats geared -1 +4. "Maybe" the spedo said 190mph "if ur lucky", but even then with THAT gearing, the bike was on the verge of going BOOM. My 03 954 is geared -1 +2 and i promise you it will only do the 160's and thats winded out til it just cant hardly go anymore. Top speed on a bike is NOT important. Anyone can hold on, but not just anyone "can ride"...That being said, i have an 03 954 and an 01 f4i. I can take my F4i into turns alot harder than i can my 954. Which in return means that "Yes me and my 600 can outride most 1K's in the twisties". So now why in the hell would you even worry about the top speed. I travel more between 0 and 80 than i travel between 0 and 160....Once again, WHY is the top speed important.......Importance would be improving the low and midrange of the bike. Even if that means sacrificing 10mph off the top speed........I've had my share of BIG sprockets. My old 954 was -1 +29 (yes thats 72 teeth), my 929 was -1 +12 (yes thats 55 teeth). NONE of which was faster on the TOP SPEED.......Hell they barely had 5th and 6th gear anyways, LoL......=-)

i've been 176 on a cool nite with two other guys. they were on a kaw 1200 and a r1. hate to say it but they pulled away a lil bit. i'm 260 lbs. and it was pulling my legs away from the bike. only mods to my bike are a full hindle system,k&n air filter,ecu mod,air box mod(screwed down the flap), and bike islowered.

HOLY CRAP... that was the longest thread i have ever read... I read every word from the first page till now... How do i get the last 3 hours of my life back... btw- joey that was a f***ed up thing to do to alot of ppl who are on this forum to learn and discuss the 954rr. Go to hell for wasting my time...

I have seen plenty of bikes with more HP, and high-tech everything, tens of thousands invested, never met anyone claiming over 180MPH, but this explains why every run in I have with a law officer, we seem to disagree about my speed. If there is Video of said event, you can post it on youtube, just ask a 10yr old for help, thats how I get this stuff done.

I don't know what to believe. I had a 2004 F4i that said I was doing 164 at one point. It was downhill on a straight away. Do I believe I was going that fast??? NO! As far as 193 and having a sherriff verify???? How the Hell did you get him to do that for you? And you didnt take a pic of the reading? A friend of mine got a ticket on a nitroed Boss Hoss doing 214 but he has the ticket to prove it(framed and takes it to the shows with the bike), so I would love to see your ticket posted.
