The bike has a full arkopovic exhaust on it. i have not changed the oil yet. but it is leaking from the drain bolt, cause it has no crush washer. The smoke was a thick white or gray when if first started, but now it barely smoke out the end of the pipe. all the smoke is now coming of the midpipe/header area when it gets up in temperture. i'll check the servo wires, but i'm not familur with the HTEV valve.. what is this????
Go to your local dealer and get a crush washer for the drain plug. They are only a dollar or two. You can catch your oil and put in back in the bike or just change the oil. Either way that will stop the oil leak which will stop the smoke from the exhaust.

so i used some sea foam fuel treatment yesterday. trying to clear out the hesitation in the throttle. i took it on a pretty long ride and this is what i noticed:
big time hesitaion/bogging if i slap on the throttle.
and also even if its smoothly acellerated, it bogs and will not go past 6500-7000 rpm in any gear..
any idea hear folks?????
thanks in advance for your continued support.

i used some sea foam fuel additive yesterday and took it for a long ride.
what i found is: 1) if you slap on the throttle it bogs right down. no mater what rpm range.
2) no matter how easy you are on the throttle it will not go over 6500-7000 rpm. it bogs right down.
my thoughts are that when the bike isnt getting the amount of fuel or air it needs when in higher rpm or when slapping on the throttle. not sure if its just the injectors clogged up from the old gas, or the little bit of rust that was in the tank.... not sure. ill just keep running the sea foam through it and see if it clears up.
also i did take the airbox apart to see if that flap opens when you hit the throttle. it does but seems to lag while closing. not sure if thats kosher or not.
any ideas here????

I wouldn't worry about the HTEV valve. That is a low idle/full throttle exhaust valve that deals with engine back pressure and performance. If the bike was on it's side for a bit it will have cylinder head oil etc.. to burn off. Don't be worried about it. Best to run the bike at a higher rpm if you can. It'll keep your plugs clean. So after all you've done, is there still running problems? The platinum spark plugs are expensive but part of a CBR. I had a CBR stuck upside down in cable barriers for hours. I pulled the plugs, fired the motor, puked a bit of oil, re-installed plugs, and it ran. Once I got it home it took a bit of riding to get rid of the top end oil burn. Just run the bike if it's running the smoke should clear and you should be good to go.
