Hey whats up. Im a 600RR guy, but im venturing over here on behalf of a buddy. He has a 954 with a devil high mount slip on. He says that the devil is the highest mount for the slip ons, which is what he likes. He dislikes the can, but wants to keep the position. I suggested to him to have the can chopped off and replaced with a new one that suites his liking, and just keep the down-pipe so that the new can will mount at the same height. He said that he though about that, and thought that it would mess with the valves? He isn't that mechanically savvy, and what I think he means is that it will screw with the back-pressure. I said that the can was just a baffle, and since it was a slip on anyways, and the cat is still there, it shouldn't change it enough to really matter. I told him I would double check around here just to make sure before we start cutting things up. Anyone have any feedback on this, think its possible, or have a good alternative? Thanks in advance.
