I've have gotten a 2002 CBR954 in with a noise that sound like a rock crusher in the right side of the engine. It changes some with engine speed. Will the timing tensenor make a noise like this?The bike has been wrecked and stator cover is cracked, I pulled it off nothing hitting there. It revs up fine quiets out some at higher RPM's.I'm a salvage dealer and have notdealt with these bikes much.I need to learn more about them have done good selling them.Would just like to get the noise out of this one so I can sell it.

954's have a wierd idle and some noises.. my guess is it's common but hard to tell over there internet.... take it apart if real worried or fine somone who knows the 954 local in person

 

If your not sure fix it, takes about 30 minutes and bout 30 bucks.

well finally

 

Check the HTEV in the middle of the exhaust
google Hass Eliminator and a power commander
noise all gone.
I battled that noise for 3 years..

Ironically enough, this is exactly what my bike is doing. A rock crusher. What a perfect description.
