Default dumb headlight ?

I really hate to ask but after i did my spring tuneup i accidentally knocked my battery off of my step onto the concrete. I tested it and all seems ok (still getting a new one) but i put it in and noticed something on startup, As soon as i hit the starter my headlights went out completely until the bike started. I swear that they just usually dim on and off a bit while the starter turns and draws but the more i thought about it i just could not remember which was right, so someone please clue me in quick so i can stop thinking about it

mine turn on first then when you turn the engine over it dulls a bit cuz the starter is drawing power but they back to normal after the alternator takes over

they usually dim. if they started to shut off after you dropped the battery then i would not worry about that.

i think you kicked the battery's *** and now its not working the way it should and one of those effect is the lack of energy to have the lights stay on during startup time...
wait for the new battery to come in and see if there is a positive change.
