That point is not lost on me, but my one and only crash was when I gave too much front brake in a panic stop situation, didn't really think about the rear brake at all. In reality the rear brake would have helped (at least some) in the same situation where I rode slightly off the road and onto some dirt/gravel. I definitely realize the rear brake doesn't offer much overall stopping power on a sport bike.
