Hey, my cbr had a new battery put in it last year sometime, and it sat over winter and the battery died, Do you think if I put it on a battery charger it should be all set to charge back up and how long should I keep it on the charger, me and my friend jump started it with his car and ran it for about 20/30 mins and then I tried to start it up after shutting it off and it wouldn't start back up the battery didnt have enough juice to turn it over. Should it reach a full charge if I let it sit on a battery charger.

 

charge it with the charger, as per directions for your setting for time. they don't charge at idle, so unless you rode it for 20 min it didnt charge.

 

Your stator is making very little power at idle. I would either keep it on a battery tender or remove the battery when you store it.

 

Also remember that normal battery chargers do not do what an Optimate do, when a battery drains beyond a certain point it can be a lost cause to try and save it, i also use an Optimate and have done for years, no issues at all for all that time. Well worth the money.

 

I hope the keeping it on the battery charger will charge it, How long should I let it charge for 24 HR? How do I do it, just undo the seat and connect it it postive to postive negative to negative and let it charge?

 

What does your charger say?
2a for 6 hours?
10a for 2 hours?
Mine shuts off when battery is full.
