Clunk/Rattle Noise From The Front End!
I have a 2002 954 with only 8,000 miles in great shape. What disturbs me is that everytime I hit a bump, pothole, etc. there is a distinct clunk noise that actually makes me feel insecure about the bike. I know that the triple tree nut and the fork clamps are tight. The only other thing that could clunk on the front end is the fender and that is tight. I am baffled. The only thing that I can think of is if the adjustable suspension is set so loose? Please advise with ideas. Thanks. Lance
I would check the plastic to make sure that is secure. Odds are it is something simple. Put it on a front stand (milk crates, 2x4's whatever) and smack the front tire with a rubber mallet to see if you can get it to make the noise.
